One of the most identifiable monuments of Rajasthan and certainly the most striking landmark of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), was built in 1799 AD by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. This five storeyed structure, having 953 casements with small lattice worked (Jali) windows, was designed by Lal Chand Usta.

Chand Baori, Abhaneri, Rajasthan
Chand Baori is a step well built in 8th century by King Chand of Abhaneri. It is about 65 feet deep, has about 3500 narrow steps with 13 landings to the water! (only 5 visible here) Very interesting place to see, although the restoration work looks quite ugly.
The caretaker claimed that a few scenes of Paheli were shot here
Incredible roads of Rajasthan
Another incredible scene you can encounter on the roads of India. How much more do you think they could add to this truck load?
Then... how much room do you think that leave you on the road when you want to overtake that truck?

Tiger Lake, Rajasthan, India
This structure led down to the lake with stairs, so that people can do their wash, gather water, etc... However, Rajasthan was (still is?) in the middle of a massive drought, and the lake was lower than it's been in many years. You can see the old water line up on the hills behind....
Welcome to Rajasthan!
An exquisitely decorated gate in City Palace at Jaipur - the capital city of Rajasthan state in India. I loved the carvings on the golden gate and the peacock feather design that gives the grand look to the entrance.
